Anyone tried UberX pte car?

Ah Gong not around anymore to protect TDs like last time. Pinky is more pro efficiency, money minded, as long as no public danger, this will be allowed, IMHO.
It may take some time, but sooner rather than later, TDs' earnings will be affected.
Some drivers will switch over but won't do them any good because UberX will eat most of their profits. Some will stay & do more sweeping, competing for the smaller and smaller pool of taxi pax who don't like or don't know how to do booking.
It is the wave of the future. TDs can stll survive lah but will take back lesser and lesser amounts as the wave hits them.....

BTW, now I am only earning peanuts - sweeping the roads for peanut crumbs, rushing for calls, risking accidents as well as more frequent cancellations.
That's why I always advise TD brothers here to have a sideline income stream. Unless you are already in retirement mode and driving to past time, it is wise to have a side income. I use some of my meagre TD earnings to invest in a side business that can grow with time.
You may disagree, its ok. Its your life, you live as you wish but just my thoughts....

For once I disagree, Uber is only paying corporate tax, not churning profit for the govt, unlike cdg and Grab taxi or even Transcab, where they hold shares, and are the former 2 major shareholder. However, as we build our economy on a liberalised manner, meaning an open economy, we cannot simply said no to investor who wish to invest in Singapore and agree to work on regulations and policies set by this country. It is a free market, and if you are to stop Uber, the world may laugh at you. Uber is no different from private limos, as someone put it correctly, pte limos got their customer base built over the years of networking and connection. Uber driver is for people who have no connection or a network of pax to use Uber as an agent or so called middle man to connect them with pax. So, like it or not, there are already thousand of pte limos/transportation in Singapore, Uber just took some of them out of the equation.

Bro at least u can "afford" to hv sideline income to invest unlike many tds who can't
Many still living day by day driving bloody long hrs to support family...
Some still omo bcoz they know if drive single shift can't hit their target tats y prefer to be omo but not all la
I know afew doin tis which is not gd for long term they also know it but sadly they got no choice

That's sad
... but how long can their bodies tahan the strain of OMO? 12 hrs per day is considered long hours already. If they do over that (OMO likely), then in the end, the medical fees not worth it .There are definitely better ways, if only they are willing to try hard enough.

If not for family objections, I would have sold coffins for a living. I love the funeral trade very much. See corpses better than seeing fare cheats and drunks. The dead cannot talk cannot scold you, also cannot pay me...

Brother, not many people can see dead peoples one hor, casket driving is not just about funneral, it is also about retriving the dead bodies, at times, it can be so scary to identify the body, some first timer, vomit on the spot. 4 hrs $150net is not easy to earn, but the plus is like what you all said, no need to see live pax, and no need to drive here and there like hell. Lots of waiting time, cannot laugh or talk jokes and must be very punctual.

This is also one trade that I curve it out during my taxi driving days, so decided to upgrade and take the course at lavender road. My wife said, it is a downgrade..nabey

You already got sideline mah, why you said no need sideline income? Driving taxi day in, day out, night in, night out, for long periods, is not human lah. Your body won't be able to take it when you become older & older. So better to have an exit plan....

The only way to collect $150 in 4 hrs during midnight is to ferry embalmed corpses to their final destination. Taxi where got so fast. He only do chinese funerals. Still got the abnn and malay funerals that he cannot penetrate. I ever see malay people use their toyota van to ferry coffins and also do normal delivery jobs. Steady boh? Each race can only fetch their own kind. That is the limitation. I dont know who fetch angmo corpses. Maybe chinese because I never saw any angmo undertaker before.

Lj lah, u go sin ming there, not far from cdg office, there is lots of those funneral house, they use talkie instead of hp so that you die die also cannot say forget to bring hp or hp no battery or funny excuses. As said, you need to be correct n punctual, smlj Jack Neo, some worst than Jack Neo, most are lao fu zi and ta fun shun type. In taxi, go wrong road the most kenna fark, in casket driving, you send wrong place or burnt the wrong corpse is a crime.

Peak hour, go viewing, talk talk talk, never close, than time all liao liao ki, rental still must pay, Nabey like 两边��岸.....
People see you drive Mercedes........cab cum, their eye give u a look like smlj like tat.....
Go siew beh beow better la.....

Aiya, be more down to earth lah, if u are fated to be TDs or Casket D like me, so be it lah, do a bit of sideline is ok, but dun alway see that people ho tan or can do, you also can do, at times, people got the niches that you do not have, end up, you suffer more, so relax lah, Singapore, as long as body, legs and hands can move,...can make a living one lah

Uber paying $200 for referring a UberX driver to them - must complete 25 trips. The heat is on.... they scare grabcar grab them? But how to stop drivers from using both apps?

Uber is like we call "Durian Head" in limo term.....
Some head very good, account job many but payment zhun, some head kns, see him one time, whack one time type.....
The way I see about Uber after read all the feedback about them, they still far away to be a good Durian Head.....

Now become Casket Driver cum taxi driver also because of my bad karma I did the last time mah. If good, drive smlj uber or grab??? people drive...I paid liao, go wrong, fark him upside down and complaint. Especially those pte limo driver...fark them upside down.
