Singapore drivers feel less safe on the road: Survey
Motorists feel less safe now, reasons include aggressive driving: Survey
Drivers who are aggressive, send text messages while driving or drink before they get behind the wheel are making Singapore's roads increasingly dangerous.
Nearly two-thirds of motorists surveyed in February said those were the reasons they felt less safe on the road these days.
Insurer AXA polled 458 motorists - mostly private car owners - and found 62 per cent believed that the situation had worsened from "a few years ago".
Among these, nearly three-quarters blamed "more aggressive drivers". But the most unsafe form of driving behaviour was found to be "driving after having more than the recommended alcohol intake", followed by text messaging at the wheel and "checking phone/tablet frequently for updates and notifications".

Of course not safe lah, former crown taxi and today merc.renault turbo, which one safer? Former singapore jap bread and butter car and today Audi, merc sport with over 200 horse power, which is safer?? Then also got pple beat red lights many times, also no problem..you think the road is safer in the 90s or now??

As a long time driver in singapore, I can see lot of different, for eg, last time you look at the rear mirror, saw a car about 5 cars lenght away, you can still signals, cut or filter out, pple will slow down and let you go thru, same like you to do others today, even you signal and want to filter out only at 7 car length away, they so fast cut into you already (dangerous hor)..and the more you signal to change lane, filter out, the more faster these cb private cars will cut you and prevent you from filter..at their top turbo speed too.

Now commercial vehicles like Toyota Hiace,Toyota pick up all got turbo diesel which mean advantage during acceleration where got safe?Last time 99% drivers local now 25% Ah Tiong Ah Nehs where got safe..?Last time taxi rental not so steep but after the introduction of turbo taxis rental went skyhigh where got time to think of safety?Last time COE how much only now bread n butter corolla cost more than 100K where you can buy a 1.6T BMW for $140k after discount..The bullshitting will keep on rolling for years to come if pay and pay still rule

since SG host F1, the roads here are like f1 daily with more powerful cars and impatient driver
