Yanzi has won so many awards already so I think she can afford to lose to this, but of course she won't lose. It's not really a matter of who deserves to win more. Just that it would be a bigger boost to Dreamz if the margin was much closer. Too bad they're not hearthrob material, otherwise they would have a broader fan base.

Actually, all the more she can't lose this awards...would be total losing of face...
She is no 1 on the rias chart...or at least within the top 5 with album sales...dreamz...sadly to say...so how can sun lose out...
Yah...i agree abt them not being dashing and swooning enuff...somehow is is quite fair isn't it???? they have good voices...etc etc...
Anyway a margin of 10% is considered quite good...they should be thankful enuff...considering STELLA should be more pop than dreamz...as well as tanya or kit? -
actually, i'm quite surprised that kit and tanya were lagging so far behind (well, at least that was when we could still see the results)..... i mean, didn't really expect it to be dreamz fm that would be the one leading second behind stef sun.... i guess that alone should be a moral booster for dfm.....

Well...moral boost...yah...but voting this kinda thing...can't be taken too seriously...the best measurement...actually there isn't...but i tink album sales should do that...
Kit...well...haven't heard from her too long...she only had one concert...tatz all...tanya...well...she is more recognised as a composer... -
Yeah, I too was surprised that Kit and Tanya were soo far behind.
On hindsight, the organisers should not have revealed the polling results right from the start... should at least have element of surprise. The Singapore contest is more of an anti-climax, at least the Taiwan one is more exciting.... could be a nail-biting finish. -

But the real race now is between Mayday and Ah Mei...
The best selling albums in taiwan for the 2nd half:
1) Sun Yanzi's KITE
2) Jay Chou's FANTASY
3) Mayday's REN SHENG HAI HAI
4) F4's METEOR RAIN
It was reported that Sony was kinda disappointed with F4 sales...they were hoping for 300,000 but it fell short of the mark. -
If Mayday wins, will they be able to perform? I thought they have already disbanded for the time being? And I agree that Jay may just pull of a surprise.
Yanzi's Kite sales is tops in second half of year? Maybe it's becos it was released earlier than the rest in the list. I'm glad she's doing so well (from a 'nationalistic' point of view) but I'm still a little surprised at how well she's been received in Taiwan. Her vocals are quite unique, but surely not quite up there in the A-list. I think her main selling point is her charm and broad appeal. Her new album "Start" will reportedly have 5 Mandarin songs and 5 English songs sung by other singers. Among them are the evergreen ganlanshu (Fei Xiang has also included this song in his latest album) and songs by Tori Amos and Alanis Morisette. Jacky Cheung's album of English songs was a big flop, but it's unlikely to be the case for her. -

Apparently they rushed out this album in preparation for her regional concerts next March. So that fans can snap up the new album, learn the songs, and sing along with her at the concert. What I think is that Warner is just cashing in on her red-hot popularity. Even if the album is of mediocre standard, it will probably still see like hot cakes. Not that I'm pre-judging the album.... just that she's on a roll at the moment. Her "real" album comprising original compositions is due only next April.
I think it's kinda expected that she will do an album of covers at some point, but didn't think it would be this soon in her career. -
it was reported (from warner music) that the people yanzi wanted to thank are all in the new album "start". All the 10 songs selected do haf some special meaning 2 yanzi. eg. Faye's tian(1) kong(1) was the first ever mandarin cd tt she bought, and gan(2) lan(3) shu(4) was the song tt brought her 2 sleep when young (her lullaby) etc...
if not wrong, her my desired happiness and kite were the best selling albums 4 the first and second-half of the yr in tw.

erm... I'm a Dreamz FM fan, and i too believe that they aren't having enough fans yet... If they are to compete with Sun Yanzi, definitely they'll be on the losing side. But i think in time, ppl will gradually recognize Dreamz FM's talents... and appreciate and even fall in love with their music... As times move on, ppl's taste and mentality will change... So we'll see, shan't we?

Actually if Dreamz FM...started out with a bang in Taiwan and later come back to SG...i think there would be a lot of fans...
This case applies to both Stef and Stella...would anyone like them if they started out in SG?
It's just a fad...
And Dreamz Fm fans dun amount to prob half of wat steffie has...actually their music is quite accepted...but without much advertising and gimmicks...and u can't sing their songs in KTVs...geez...this takes off a lot...
I dun tink Dreamz FM would be as pop as Stefanie Sun...or at least be that HOT as Sun is or will be 'was'...watever...but i believe they will have their support from their regular fans. -
Dreamz came in fourth in the list of most popular bands on 933 this year... bravo!

Yanzi came out tops in the most popular female artiste category. The others are 2. A*Mei 3. Sammi Cheng 4. Faye Wong -
Kinda disappointed that Dreamz fm only managed to clinch the 4th spot...hoping they would be able to take the third...haizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Thanks for the mentioned Blueapplez...did take notice...top 3 all from warner music...but absent is Na Ying...maybe her marketability not so good in SG.

Latest buzz is that A*Mei is neck-to-neck with Jay Chou to represent Taiwan at the MTV awards.... Jay is said to have pulled ahead. If not wrong, closing date for polling is tomorrow.
My heart says A*Mei but my head says Jay will win... he's simply on a roll.

Actually...it's an honour to be nominated especially for those in Taiwan and Hong Kong...whereby they have many many singers...names like Jolin, Faye, Sandy Lam, Coco Lee are all missing...in fact Elva, Wu Bai, Mayday, Ah Mei and Jay should be congratulated liao...

Saw Jay Chou in a publicity clip on tv inviting pple to attend the mtv asia awards. Maybe the IT boy of Mando pop has the Taiwan race sewn up? .... just guessing lor.

haha...i've been very actively "promoting"
dreamz fm's music to my friends cos i think the problem is they don't get much exposure to it and even if they did the only thing they know is bu zhi de... i must say, although it's an uphill task.. sometimes it works... after i lent my dfm2 cd to my fren she went out to buy it... and when my other fren expressed even the slightest interest, and b4 he could even say "dfm", i had already dumped the 2nd and 3rd album in his hands... he told later that he went to download almost the whole 1st, 2nd album onto his mp3 player when he first got his mp3 player... and today, am having a family gathering, going to bring along my 2nd and 3rd album for my cousin (who listens only to eng songs).. talked to her about them the other day and she was quite interested... so here i go again... haha.
